[ARCHIVED] 2023 Rehabilitation Street Project

2023 Reconstruction Street Project Map (PNG)

April, 2023

TO:                  Village Resident/Property Owner

FROM:             Public Works Department

SUBJECT:            Proposed 2023 Village of Plover Street Rehabilitation Projects

The Village of Plover will be reconstructing your street in 2023. Plover Public Works crews will start performing preliminary work for this project as early as possible in the spring (when the frost is out of the ground and weather permitting).

As part of the reconstruction project, property lines (rights-of-way) will be located and staked. A visual inspection of the right-of-way staking will be completed to indicate if items need to be removed from the right-of-way.  If items are found, you will receive notice by mail and be given a reasonable amount of time to have the item or items removed so the project can proceed.  In conjunction with the street rehabilitation project, the Public Works Department will trim and remove trees/shrubbery within the street right-of-way where street encroachments exist. Vision obstructions at intersections will also be addressed at this time.

Street reconstruction will involve pulverizing the existing pavement, adding additional gravel where needed, installing concrete curb radii at intersections and along curves in the street, and installing concrete curbing in all cul-de-sacs (where applicable).  New asphalt will be laid in two layers. The contractor will saw cut and remove a strip of asphalt/concrete approximately 1-3 feet wide for the width of all driveways. This will be replaced with new asphalt as a blend point with the street.

As part of the rehabilitation project, the Public Works department will be creating/re-establishing approximately a 12-inch swale/depression within the Village’s right-of-way to provide for proper drainage of the street.

The Village of Plover will make every effort to keep streets that are under construction open to traffic.  There will be times however, that we may need to close streets for a few hours. During periods of street closure, you will need to take alternate routes to and from your residence, and may not be able to park in your driveway. You will be allowed to park on adjacent streets while this work is being done.

If you or a family member have any special needs, please contact the Public Works Department so that the Village can make arrangements for you.

Residents considering replacing their asphalt driveway during the street rehabilitation projects can be provided a contact once a contractor has been decided upon.

Please be aware that property owners are responsible for removing any structures in the right of way, including irrigation, prior to project construction. The Village of Plover does not assist or compensate property owners if structures/items are not removed from the right of way.

We regret that this street work may cause some inconveniences.  Thank you in advance for your patience during this project.

For more information or questions please contact the Village of Plover Public Works Department, Roy Hopfensperger or Scott Klemm, at 715-345-5257 (Monday thru Friday 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.).
